The Cloisters were extended in 1929, connecting the ‘long walk’ classrooms to the main schoolhouse. Students fundraised to include a Belfry which they celebrated in the 1929 School Magazine:
And now for really solid facts - look round, and see our monument.
For out of all our bricks and such, new cloisters rise of adamant. A little legend, set beneath the belfry with its booming bell, Relates that in this year of grace the girls had given this gift as well.
The Collegians’ Appeal restored the bell in 2014, for the school’s 140th birthday.
