Joan Ansett Hall

Boarders outside Joan Ansett Hall, 1978.  Toorak College Archives.

MARKER 12

This new boarding house was opened in 1972 for senior boarding students.  It was named ‘Joan Ansett Hall’ in 1982, celebrating Lady Joan Ansett’s contribution to the school.

The original boarding house, today’s Hamilton building, was in desperate need of an update, with many boarders still sleeping on the verandah with no heating and only chicken wire in the windows.
