MARKER 1

Toorak College in Mt Eliza was established in 1928 as a country boarding school. The school that began in Melbourne in 1874, had now become a Company School owned by the Toorak College community.

This building was the boarding house, School House No. 1.  In 1968 it was re-named ‘The Hamilton Building’ after the Hamilton sisters, Principals 1908 to 1936.
